Da Nang bans sea travel, urgently responds to storm No. 10

DNO - On the morning of September 27, the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command said that the City Border Guard Command had fired signal flares to notify ships operating at sea of ​​storm No. 10 and banned them from sailing until the storm dissipates.

The City Border Guard Command directed coastal border stations to count and count the number of people and vessels operating at sea, especially fishing vessels operating far from shore; and to have forces and means ready to carry out search and rescue missions when situations arise.

As of 5:00 a.m. on September 27, Da Nang had 257 fishing boats with 3,816 workers operating at sea, of which 72 boats with 231 workers were in the coastal area; 82 boats with 421 workers were in the offshore area; 39 boats with 323 workers were in the Hoang Sa archipelago; 63 boats with 2,829 workers were in the Truong Sa archipelago; and 1 boat with 12 workers was in the Gulf of Tonkin.

Currently, the Border Guard Command is continuing to monitor, contact, notify, call, and guide fishing vessels and vehicles in operation to proactively avoid and move out of the storm's affected area, and plan their journeys and production to ensure safety.

Boats are also guided to anchor safely at Tho Quang fishing port and wharf, Tien Sa port and the areas of Hoi Kieng, Cua Dai, Cu Lao Cham, and Nui Thanh.

Localities and units have completed the Command Committees for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense at all levels according to regulations.

The city prepared 853 ships, boats, 447 canoes, 1,980 boats, 451 rescue vehicles, 1,638 cars, 402 rafts, 31,071 life buoys, 48,176 life jackets, 165,744 sandbags, 1,603 chainsaws, 1,605 generators... to serve the work of natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue. Food, foodstuffs and necessities are stocked to ensure quick distribution.

In order to proactively respond to storm No. 10, on the morning of September 27, a working delegation of the Da Nang City Military Command led by Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the City Military Command, inspected the response to storm No. 10 in An Hai ward and a number of units and localities.

The People's Committee of An Hai Ward issued documents and urged units, residential areas, and residential groups to drastically deploy measures to respond to storm No. 10; clear drainage and notify people to remove covers and rainwater collection gates on the roads to prevent flooding due to heavy rain...

Leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hai Chau ward inspected the dredging and drainage work on the roads and directed residential areas and neighborhood groups to mobilize people to clear drainage at the rainwater intakes in front of their houses.

Meanwhile, the People's Committee of Hoa Xuan Ward held an urgent meeting to deploy responses to storm No. 10; established shock troops and arranged forces, vehicles, and infrastructure to evacuate people when a storm occurs. At the same time, reviewed and selected 25 solid structures that are qualified to receive people when a storm makes landfall, with more than 1,700 households and over 6,000 people subject to evacuation to safety.

Chairman of Hoa Xuan Ward People's Committee Dang Quang Vinh requested units, residential areas, and residential groups to absolutely not be subjective about storm No. 10. Members of the disaster prevention and control task force in residential areas propagated and mobilized people to proactively respond to natural disasters, coordinated with forces to participate in strengthening houses, evacuating people to safe shelters; and supported the distribution of food and necessities to people.

The Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department of Hoa Xuan Ward has implemented tree trimming; dredging drainage ditches, collecting waste and ensuring environmental sanitation. Coordinated and guided boats and ships to temporarily anchor on the river to ensure safety. Required project owners and construction works to brace and dismantle dangerous and unsafe items. Mobilized farmers to promptly harvest and reinforce crop areas...
