Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Thuan emphasized that heads of schools, educational centers, and chairmen of People's Committees of wards and communes can proactively decide to let students stay home from school when the weather is dangerous, especially in low-lying, flooded areas, with bridges or constructions that pose potential safety risks. At the same time, vocational training institutions and universities should flexibly adjust their school schedules based on reality.
The Department of Education and Training requires schools to seriously implement the direction of the City People's Committee and localities on Fengshen storm prevention; check and brace facilities, trim trees, reinforce roofs, electrical systems, and fences; move equipment and teaching materials to high, dry places; install warning signs in dangerous areas and prepare plans to evacuate people and property when necessary.
Units must also arrange for 24/7 staff to regularly update the progress of storm Fengshen, and maintain contact through multiple channels to promptly notify parents, students and teachers. When an incident occurs, schools must promptly report to the Department of Education and Training and local authorities for coordination in handling.
In case of complicated storms, the Department of Education and Training encourages online teaching to avoid program interruptions and ensure absolute safety for students and teachers.
