The garbage is mostly plastic, nylon bags, styrofoam, animal carcasses, dry firewood... stretching hundreds of meters along the river bank. According to local people, the situation of garbage scattered from underwater to onshore has been going on for many years now, although authorities have organized to clean it up, but everything is back to the same place. Mr. Tran Van Viet (Son Tra ward, Da Nang city) said that the garbage forms a thick layer "surrounding" everywhere, hindering people's fishing activities and boat mooring. “I hope the government will take measures to collect and thoroughly handle the pollution along the shore of Man Quang Bay, because this is an area where local people often go to fish and make a living. If this continues, it will not only affect the aesthetics but also threaten the health of the people and tourists,” said Mr. Viet. Plastic bottles, nylon bags... piled up in thick layers, emitting a strong stench. The filthy, seriously polluted scene in the Man Quang Bay area has been going on for many years. Environmental sanitation workers are trying to collect garbage on the afternoon of August 5. According to Mr. Dinh Vui, Chairman of Son Tra Ward People's Committee, garbage mainly flows in from all directions and is washed ashore by waves, creating a messy and offensive scene. “In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of Son Tra Ward has coordinated with the Da Nang Urban Environment Company to collect, process and clean up at least twice a week. If the amount of garbage is large, the frequency of collection will also be increased to ensure the beauty of the area," informed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Tra Ward.
