Da Nang: Import and export growth

DNVN - According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city's import-export activities in the first 9 months of 2025 continued to record positive changes, becoming an important driving force to promote the local socio-economic growth.

In the third quarter of 2025, exporting enterprises will face a new reciprocal tax policy from the United States on goods imported from Vietnam. However, Da Nang 's export turnover still maintains an impressive growth momentum. The total two-way import-export turnover is estimated to reach nearly 2.5 billion USD, up 7.4% over the previous quarter and up 10.7% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, exports are estimated at over 1.3 billion USD, up nearly 12% over the previous quarter and up more than 16% over the same period, demonstrating the flexible adaptability of the business community, especially proactively seeking alternative markets. Imports are estimated at nearly 1.2 billion USD, up 3% over the previous quarter and up 5.3% over the same period in 2024, demonstrating that the source of production materials remains stable, supporting the recovery and expansion of production. This result contributes to maintaining Da Nang's trade balance in the context of many fluctuations in international trade.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the total import-export turnover of the city is estimated at nearly 6.8 billion USD, an increase of nearly 13% over the same period in 2024. Of which, export turnover reached nearly 3.5 billion USD, an increase of nearly 17%; import turnover was nearly 3.3 billion USD, an increase of nearly 9%. The trade balance of goods continued to maintain a trade surplus of 185 million USD, affirming the effectiveness of the international trade development strategy, while creating an important foundation for the city to achieve socio -economic growth targets in 2025.

“In the first 9 months of 2025, Da Nang grew evenly in both exports and imports. The city not only affirmed its role as a production - trade - logistics service center of the Central region but also achieved a trade surplus of nearly 200 million USD, creating important room for sustainable economic growth,” said the Da Nang Statistical Office.

According to this agency, in the context of the complicated and unpredictable world situation, especially strategic competition, conflicts in some regions and the US's reciprocal tax policy on Vietnamese goods, export activities in the coming time are forecast to continue to face many difficulties and challenges.

In order to improve the ability to adapt quickly, flexibly and effectively, the Prime Minister issued Directive 29/CT-TTg dated September 23, 2025 on implementing key tasks and solutions to promote exports and develop foreign markets. On that basis, Da Nang City focuses on synchronously implementing key solutions to promote export activities.

Specifically, the City proactively reviews and promptly resolves difficulties and obstacles for each enterprise and investment project; especially large projects with FDI capital from important markets. Continue to call for and attract large, multinational corporations to invest in export production projects, prioritizing large-scale projects that apply modern technology, create highly competitive products and have the ability to participate deeply in the global value chain.

In addition, Da Nang is determined to make the most of opportunities from free trade agreements; promote trade promotion programs associated with the locality's key export industries; improve the quality and standards of goods; strengthen economic diplomacy, expand and diversify export markets.

At the same time, the city focuses on monitoring and regularly updating market information, promptly supporting businesses, and minimizing the risk of goods congestion. In addition, it continues to minimize administrative procedures related to import and export, ensuring an open, fast and favorable environment for businesses.
