Highlights of the 2024 Doc Cuoc Temple Blessing Festival (Sam Son City)

Doc Cuoc Temple Blessing Festival is a traditional festival to commemorate the merits of Doc Cuoc god and ancestors and pray for a new year of favorable weather, calm seas, full holds of fish and shrimp, successful crops, a prosperous life, and for tourism in Sam Son city to develop more and more.

The traditional procession attracts thousands of people to participate.

On March 25 (February 16 of the lunar calendar), at the Doc Cuoc Temple Historical - Cultural Relic, Sam Son City solemnly held the Doc Cuoc Temple Blessing Festival in 2024.

From early morning, thousands of people of the coastal city in traditional and festive costumes carried palanquins from temples and communal houses in 5 wards: Truong Son, Bac Son, Trung Son, Quang Tien, Quang Cu, parading through Ho Xuan Huong street, and gathered at Doc Cuoc temple yard to open the festival.

Vice Chairman of Sam Son City People's Committee Bui Quoc Dat delivered the opening speech of the festival.

Traditional blessing and sacrificial rituals

Immediately after the opening drumbeat, there are traditional blessing and sacrificial rituals, expressing respect to ancestors and the wishes of the Party Committee, government and people of the city in the new year.

The performance "Sacred God Talisman" won an excellent award at the Traditional Arts and Mass Arts Festival.

Next is the final round of the Traditional Arts and Mass Arts Festival with 5 outstanding performances selected from the preliminary round on the evening of March 24 and the final round of the card chess and Chinese chess competition.
