The 1st Congress of Delegates of the Gia Lai Provincial Association of Retired Teachers, term 2025 - 2030

(gialai.gov.vn) - On the morning of October 21, the Gia Lai Provincial Association of Former Teachers held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Attending the congress were comrades: Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Phan Chi Hung - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, and units; 40 official delegates representing nearly 4,000 members in the whole province.

The Gia Lai Provincial Retired Teachers Association was formed on the basis of merging the Binh Dinh Provincial Retired Teachers Association and the Gia Lai Provincial Retired Teachers Association (formerly) according to Decision No. 1698/QD-UBND dated September 6, 2025 of the Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee.

According to the report at the Congress, in the past time, the Association of Former Teachers of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces at all levels before the merger, have gradually affirmed their role as an exemplary social-professional organization, making many practical contributions to the community.

The Association has done a good job of gathering and uniting retired teachers; proactively coordinating with the education sector, the Association for Promotion of Education, the Fatherland Front and other organizations in the movement to promote education, encourage talents, and build a learning society. Members always promote the exemplary role of teachers, taking the lead in movements such as "Promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", "All people unite to join hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"... Caring for the material and spiritual life of members has always been a focus of the Association at all levels; cultural - artistic, physical training and sports activities are also regularly given attention.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Provincial Association of Former Teachers is determined to promote information and propaganda work to raise awareness for members and former teachers to build and develop the Association throughout the communes and wards and make the Association's activities increasingly stronger. Gather and unite the team of former teachers in the province; preserve and promote the tradition of "Respecting teachers and valuing education - Remembering the source of drinking water". Fully implement local movements. Participate in consulting with schools on educational issues, contributing to the development of the education - training sector and the movement to encourage learning and talent. Take care of the spiritual life, material life and health of members.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the contributions of generations of teachers - those who have cultivated knowledge and nurtured the personalities of generations of students in the province.

Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Last August, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthrough development of education and training in the new period. This is a strategic resolution, with long-term orientation for the entire sector, which clearly states: "Education and training is the top national policy, the key driving force of the country's development, the key to opening the way for industrialization, modernization and international integration." The resolution requires localities to proactively concretize it into action programs suitable to regional characteristics, linking education with socio-economic, cultural and human development. And Gia Lai province has all the conditions to become a bright spot in implementing Resolution 71, if it knows how to promote the combined strength of the entire population, and especially the experience, intelligence and prestige of the team of former teachers.

In order for the Gia Lai Provincial Retired Teachers Association to truly become a exemplary, prestigious, united, creative and humane organization, in the 2025 - 2030 term, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang suggested that the Association continue to consolidate and develop the organization, build a team of Association officials with courage, responsibility and enthusiasm; carry out well the work of developing members; improve the quality of activities of Association organizations at the grassroots level, ensuring substance. Promote the role of the Association in the cause of education and human development. Strengthen activities to encourage learning, encourage talents, build a learning society, especially accompanying the education sector in educating ethics, lifestyle, and tradition of respecting teachers for the younger generation. Participate in consulting, social criticism, and contribute ideas to build policies and guidelines for educational development of the province; Participate in giving opinions on teacher policies, human resource training and building a learning society, especially in the process of implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW. Promote the spirit of solidarity - affection - responsibility, do a good job of taking care of the material and spiritual life of members. Promote patriotic emulation movements and social activities, spread humanistic values, create the image of an exemplary teacher in the hearts of the people. Strengthen coordination with the Association for Promotion of Education, the Association for the Elderly, the Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Fatherland Front and other organizations to expand influence and promote community strength.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Lam Hai Giang pledged to always pay attention, support and create favorable conditions for the Provincial Association of Former Teachers to operate effectively and sustainably; at the same time, always listen to and absorb the enthusiastic opinions of teachers in all decisions on local education development in the coming time.

The Congress voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Gia Lai Provincial Association of Former Teachers for the first term, 2025 - 2030, consisting of 21 members; the Standing Committee of the Association consisting of 07 members; the Inspection Committee of the Association consisting of 03 members. Mr. Cao Van Binh - Chairman of the Provincial Association of Former Teachers was re-elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Association of Former Teachers for the first term, 2025 - 2030.
