This evening, July 23, at Liberation Square, Quang Tri town, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Tri province presided over a grand ceremony to commemorate and pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27 (1947-2024). This is part of the ceremony under the " Peace Wish" program of the 2024 Peace Festival. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam attended.

After the flower and incense offering ceremony at the Central Monument of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel , more than 1,000 monks, nuns, and Buddhists conducted the official ceremonies of the memorial service to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.

Venerable Thich Thien Tan, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province, said that the requiem mass was held to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs - the nation's outstanding sons who did not spare their blood and bones, sacrificing for national independence, freedom of the Fatherland, and for the happiness of the people. In addition to that meaning, the requiem mass also prays for national peace and prosperity, and for good things, for peace.

This is also an opportunity for today's generation to demonstrate the fine tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people; an opportunity to educate the younger generation about the tradition of patriotism, to deeply express gratitude for the great sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who fell for today's independence and peace.
