Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc spoke at the event.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that this event not only marked the expansion of Marvell's development in Vietnam, but also demonstrated a long-term vision in the strategy of cooperation and technology development in the region. This is an important milestone in the process of cooperation in developing the semiconductor and high-tech industry in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Marvell having two offices in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Da Nang demonstrates the Group's long-term commitment, while affirming Vietnam's increasingly clear position in the global value chain in the semiconductor industry. Ho Chi Minh City is committed to accompanying Marvell and investors, through creating a favorable environment in terms of mechanisms, policies, infrastructure and human resources. The city is ready to support Marvell to promote R&D activities, technology transfer, as well as expand the scale of engineering training right in Vietnam.

Marvell's Etown 6 (Ho Chi Minh City) office is equipped with a modern Lab.

Marvell is a leading company in semiconductor and microchip solutions for data infrastructure. In 2013, Marvell Vietnam was established with only 5 engineers and a modest office in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone (Ho Chi Minh City). Initially, the Marvell Vietnam engineering team focused mainly on design verification projects, then gradually participated in the entire IC (semiconductor) design process.

In 2023, Marvell announced plans to increase its engineering team in Vietnam by 50% within three years. To date, Vietnam has become Marvell's third largest research and development (R&D) center globally with more than 500 engineers, behind only the United States and India.

According to Marvell Vietnam General Director Le Quang Dam, Vietnam has affirmed its position as a strategic pillar in Marvell's global R&D network. Marvell's Vietnamese engineers are participating in the most advanced and complex technology projects in the semiconductor industry and the rapid growth of the Marvell Vietnam team is the clearest proof of the quality and potential of Vietnamese engineers.

Some typical projects that the Vietnamese engineering team participated in include Marvell® Alaska® A 800G PAM4 DSP Active Electrical Cable (AEC), Alaska P PCIe Gen6 Retimer and Nova 1.6 Tbps PAM4 DSP, as well as many other key projects.

Vietnam plays a strategic role in Marvell’s development vision, particularly in promoting the diversification of its workforce and increasing the proportion of female engineers. To realize this goal, Marvell will continue to cooperate with Vietnamese universities and the government through scholarship programs, internships, co-development of curricula and technical seminars to nurture the next generation of semiconductor engineers.
