This afternoon, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to honor the achievements of the forces participating in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

During the celebration, the Army participated in 45 blocks (18 standing blocks, 27 walking blocks), 14 blocks of military artillery vehicles, Artillery forces, Air Force, Navy, service forces, with a total of 20,574 officers and soldiers; 200 vehicles, artillery; 47 planes, 41 ships, 12 boats, 662 cars of all kinds.

100% of the military volunteered to participate, 3,427 officers and soldiers (27.6%) registered to participate in all 3 parades. 164 people were students studying at universities who reserved their results to join the militia.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, said that on the morning of September 2, Ba Dinh Square once again witnessed a historic moment - 80 years after the revolutionary autumn of 1945, Vietnam celebrated its National Day with a grand ceremony that was both solemn and brilliant, imbued with national pride.

"The celebration has depicted the sacred memory of National Day 80 years ago, demonstrated the strength of the armed forces, and affirmed the country's solid position on the journey to become a strong and prosperous nation. Everyone understands that time never returns, but memories will last forever... I think this is also an unforgettable memory for each of us," General Phan Van Giang shared.

He mentioned the joyful atmosphere of the whole country in the past days, every street of the capital was bright with flags and flowers, every line of people waiting for the ceremony, stretching along the roads leading to Ba Dinh Square. People from old to young were excited and emotional, social networks were filled with red flags. In big cities, people poured into the streets to celebrate National Day; in rural and mountainous areas, people gathered around TV screens to watch the celebrations, parades, and marches.

"The whole country seems to breathe with one breath, one heartbeat, resounding with the two words Vietnam. The parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 is truly a national festival, a great festival of the people, by the people and for the people. The army and militia forces have successfully completed all their tasks, contributing to creating a more majestic parade. The Minister of National Defense commented that compared to the previous training sessions, preliminary rehearsals, and final rehearsals, at the celebration, all the units were more beautiful, more unified, and had a more heroic atmosphere.

Regarding service assurance, the Minister said that the uniforms, equipment, props, and technical means of the blocks and forces are more beautiful, unified, and standardized. He suggested that when rewarding the forces, they should be equal. Because the officers and soldiers who serve also work very hard, staying up late, waking up early, and taking better care of their meals and sleep. Tens of thousands of officers and soldiers participate but no safety incidents occur.

According to the Minister, the mobile forces and vehicles have been awake all night since the night of September 1, but no one showed signs of fatigue, everyone was excited and proud.

"When practicing, we were all one hundred people, and when it came to the celebration, the entire force marched and served as one, ten thousand people, all groups were as one. The synchronized footsteps of the officers and soldiers of the armed forces and the masses created a grand picture of the strength of great national unity.

The resounding applause, the shouts of "Long live Vietnam , Long live President Ho Chi Minh" and the proud eyes of hundreds of thousands of people in the square engraved the truth that "Independence and freedom are the immortal foundation, happiness and prosperity are the eternal goal ", General Phan Van Giang expressed.

He also emphasized: "We have lived in historic moments, been a part of history, those are beautiful, proud memories that can never be forgotten...".

The Minister of National Defense requested the General Staff and other agencies and units to study the solemn walking movement "so that it is easy to walk, easy to unify and beautiful".
