B'Lao Ward focuses on vocational training to improve life, escape poverty quickly and sustainably.

Currently, in B'Lao ward, there are 831 households and 2,815 ethnic minority people. Most of them live in So Ven hamlet (Residential Group (TDP) 6); B'Lao Sère hamlet (TDP 14); NauSri TDP; Nga Sơn 2 TDP; TDP 23. Up to now, the number of multidimensionally poor households among ethnic minorities is 20/78 households (25.6%). According to the People's Committee of B'Lao ward, the locality strives to reduce at least 12 multidimensionally poor households each year. By 2030, B'Lao ward strives to have no poor households.

Due to historical factors, ethnic minorities here live together in small residential areas, often called villages. Mr. Nguyen Cong Tuan - Head of Residential Group 16, where So Ven village is located, said: "Ethnic minorities have 106 households out of 306 households in the Residential Group, some people encroach on coffee and durian cultivation on about 10 hectares in other areas. The rest of the people work as freelancers, in local companies combined with traditional occupations."

Similarly, in other villages of B'Lao ward, ethnic minorities often encroach on other lands to grow industrial crops and fruit trees. Households with little or no agricultural land do other jobs, focusing on traditional occupations such as brocade weaving and knitting.

Currently, the brocade weaving profession is still maintained in the villages of B'Lao ward. Mrs. Ka Nghen (So Ven village) is a long-time brocade weaver who believes that although the job does not have a high income, it helps the family earn an additional income. On the other hand, it also preserves and promotes the traditional beauty that our ancestors have kept for a long time. Or like Ms. Ka Nghia, she has organized a team of construction workers in the village to undertake projects and houses, creating jobs for the people.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Hieu - an expert of the Department of Culture and Society of B'Lao Ward shared: Ethnic minorities in the locality always comply with the Party's guidelines and policies; the State's policies and laws. Especially in emulation movements and local campaigns, they actively participate. Thanks to labor and production, people's lives change every day; preserving and promoting the good identity of the nation.

To help ethnic minorities escape poverty in the city, B'Lao ward has implemented the 3-together solution: "Government and organizations live together, work together, and share with poor households". In particular, supporting sustainable livelihoods by providing means of production according to needs. Diversifying models such as: production cooperatives, vocational training linked to work addresses, establishing traditional vocational groups, prioritizing access to loan sources... Along with that, the local government prioritizes training in occupations such as: industrial sewing, repairing agricultural tools, accessing high-tech agricultural models such as: hydroponic vegetable growing, net houses, greenhouses.

Mr. K'Jiêm - Secretary of the NauSri TDP Party Cell said that the ethnic minorities in the TDP have 277/388 households (accounting for 71%), currently the village has no poor households in the ethnic minority area. People mainly do agriculture, grow coffee and durian. However, according to Secretary of the K'Jiêm Party Cell, the locality needs to support science and technology, change the structure of crops and livestock so that people can proactively develop the economy , eliminate the mentality of waiting and relying. In particular, focus on vocational training for ethnic minority youth with suitable occupations, linked to jobs and the labor market.

Mr. Hoang Bao Nguyen - Chairman of B'Lao Ward People's Committee said: Currently, there are 13 ethnic minorities living in the area, mainly K'ho, Chau Ma... In recent years, with the attention of the Party, State and locality, people's lives have improved a lot. However, the lack of production materials (agricultural land) has caused people to face certain difficulties. Therefore, based on the practical situation, the locality has been implementing many synchronous measures to help people escape poverty quickly and sustainably; remove obstacles for people in economic development.
