After nearly 1 year of implementation, the investment project of the coal conveyor system from G9 warehouse to Mong Duong Chemical port of Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company - TKV has been completed and put into use. This is one of the key projects of Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company, implemented with the main goal of transporting coal from G9 warehouse to Mong Duong Chemical port, supplying coal to customers or to blend with imported coal and then transport coal back to Mong Duong Thermal Power Center when necessary.
According to the design, this project invests in a new conveyor belt to transport coal from G9 warehouse - Mong Duong 2 Thermal Power Plant to Hoa Chat - Mong Duong port and vice versa. The total length of the conveyor belt is about 1.4km, the capacity is 3 million tons/year, the belt width is 1,200mm, the designed belt speed is 2.5 m/s.

Along with this project, Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company - TKV is also urgently completing investment procedures for the Mong Duong Chemical Port Upgrade Project; the scale includes: Coal conveyor system; Port system; Technological process and infrastructure connection with the two-way conveyor line G9 - Chemical port; Operator house; Coal warehouse system; Drainage system, roads, trees...
According to Mr. Cao Van Chuan, Deputy Director of the Company, it is expected that after being put into use in 2027, this will be a modern, large-capacity port cluster, meeting the transaction needs of large ships. The coal transport network will also be conveyorized, moving towards completely eliminating the use of cars to import coal to the port, contributing to minimizing the impact on the environment as well as the landscape of the Cam Pha urban area in particular and the environment of Bai Tu Long Bay in general, ensuring a sustainable port exploitation development strategy.
Currently, Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company - the unit assigned by TKV to consume about 80% of the Group's coal output, is managing and operating 2 main ports. That is, Km6 port and Mong Duong Chemical port with loading and unloading equipment and conveyor systems that have been invested and upgraded; helping to improve productivity, meeting the coal delivery schedule, especially for thermal power plants in the Northern region.
In addition, the Company's warehouse system is also reasonably arranged, has large storage capacity and flexible mixing ability; ensuring the supply of coal types according to the correct specifications and quality to serve the consumption needs of power households and customers in the Group.
Of which, Km6 Port Warehouse has an area of 12 hectares, designed capacity for coal export of 4 million tons/year and coal import of 2 million tons/year. Mong Duong Chemical Port Warehouse includes 1 coal pouring conveyor system, capacity of 800 tons/hour; coal storage area of 2.83 hectares, with the capacity to store 195,000 tons of coal of all kinds. G9 Warehouse has an area of 3.54 hectares, with the capacity to store 210,000 tons of coal of all kinds.

Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group is currently managing and exploiting 6 ports and wharves including: Ben Can, Dien Cong, Lang Khanh, Km6 Cam Pha, Cam Pha port, Mong Duong - Khe Day.
Up to now, the ports have basically been invested in technological lines, meeting the coal consumption capacity in TKV's mining areas and meeting the demand for receiving imported coal to supply domestic consumers. In the period up to 2030, TKV will continue to invest in maintaining and upgrading the above ports and port clusters to meet the import requirements of about 8.5-11 million tons of coal/year and export about 35-40 million tons of coal/year.Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of TKV Investment Board, said: Along with projects to improve the operational capacity of port clusters, TKV is also reviewing the overall conditions of coal warehouses, storage yards and coal blending lines. At units in the Group, basically all coal warehouses and storage yards ensure essential standards in terms of area, premises, storage materials, loading and transporting means.

Currently, in addition to maintaining coal production capacity to achieve the 8% growth target, TKV also tightens management of the operating capacity of warehouse and port clusters. The Group's leaders said that they will continue to review investment projects to develop warehouse and port clusters, ensuring compliance with planning and usage needs. At present, when TKV's coal consumption situation is facing many difficulties; TKV's coal warehouses and yards are mobilized to maximum capacity; the Group on the one hand strives to promote the consumption market, on the other hand, directs units to make efforts to ensure coal quality to supply to customers as soon as demand increases again.
