Mr. Nguyen Van Son (living in Hanoi ) said that this year his family brought 400 peach trees to Ho Chi Minh City to sell, including 10 ancient peach trees. The ancient peach trees were sold for 70-100 million VND. "My family has sold half of the peach trees. Some peach trees priced at nearly 100 million VND have been purchased," Mr. Son said.

Mr. Son said that his family's peach garden along the Red River was severely damaged after Typhoon Yagi . To have these 400 peach trees, his family had to spend a lot of time taking care of them. Sticking to his family's traditional profession, Mr. Son has been traveling to the South for more than 10 years to do business during the last days of the year. Late in the afternoon of the 29th of Tet, he took the last bus of the day to return home to celebrate Tet.

From Nha Be district, Mrs. Kim Xuyen and her grandchild took the bus to District 1 to visit, take pictures, and shop for Tet. "I bought a mini apricot pot for 250,000 VND, it's very beautiful and cheap. The house is small and the road is long, so I don't buy big pots of flowers," Mrs. Xuyen said.

Colorful hybrid chrysanthemums of Dutch and Korean varieties are new flowers sold at the flower market this year, alongside dahlias, sunflowers, cockscombs, etc. Ms. Minh Ai said that her shop sells hybrid chrysanthemums in pots made of coconut fiber, which is environmentally friendly. "A pair of these chrysanthemums is sold for 450,000-550,000 VND, higher than the market price because they are new varieties and not much is available," Ms. Minh Ai said.

Phalaenopsis orchids of various colors are also sold at this Tet flower market.

In addition to peach blossoms, five-color bougainvillea, chrysanthemums, and apricot blossoms are also sold in abundance in this area. These are familiar flowers brought by traders from the West to Ho Chi Minh City to sell every Lunar New Year.
