On the morning of February 8, hundreds of tourists lined up to draw lots to see their fortunes on the occasion of the New Year at Sai Temple Festival, Thuy Loi Village, Thuy Lam Commune, Dong Anh District ( Hanoi ).

Each customer spends 10,000 VND to draw a fortune to see their fate in the year of At Ty . Some people also come here to draw for relatives and friends. The fortunes are numbered from 1 to 50, whoever draws a number must go outside to find the ballot with the corresponding number to see.

After drawing lots, many guests stood and prayed, hoping for a new year with good fortune and luck.

The area for handing out decoding tickets is located behind the temple. Here, the "masters" will ask for the visitor's hexagram number, then hand them a piece of paper with six-eight verses printed on it.

According to Mr. Dung (a tourist from Hanoi ), most of the "solutions" are quite difficult to understand. Many of the verses rhyme incorrectly, making it difficult to read.

Every year in this area there are many "fortune tellers" sitting on mats reading palms and reading fortunes for customers, but this year this phenomenon is no longer there.

Visitors stand and sit throughout the courtyard behind the temple, reading and finding answers to the six-eight verses.

A family burst out laughing after reading the "nice words".

Most of these decoding sheets have good things written on them, with few bad things.

Duoc (in black) laughed out loud after reading the sentence about ambition and fate on the hexagram. "I was born in 2003, I don't have a lover yet. I think it's very true."

In another corner, two women sat "guessing their fortunes" and laughed loudly. "I don't know if it's good or bad. Let's try drawing a fortune for the new year," said the woman wearing glasses.

"Last year, I saw my friends draw lots to pray for a son and it was very true," Nam and Nhung (right) shared, laughing loudly.
