Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong chaired an urgent meeting with relevant departments and branches to thoroughly grasp and concretize the Government 's direction.

At the Hue City bridge, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong attended and held a local thematic meeting immediately afterward.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: Vietnam's economy is recovering strongly with GDP growth in the first 6 months of 2025 reaching 7.52%, the highest level in the past 15 years. However, to reach the expected 8% mark for the whole year, large infrastructure projects, especially high-speed railways, must get on track. "We must focus highly, deploy quickly but surely. If the railway is slow, we will lose the opportunity to connect and develop the whole region," said the Prime Minister, at the same time requesting implementation according to the "6 clear" principles: Clear people - clear work - clear time - clear responsibility - clear product - clear authority.

Three projects that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid special attention to are: the North-South high-speed railway, the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong route and urban routes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, site clearance is considered the "key point".

“If the land clearance is good, the implementation will be good. Where there is a bottleneck, there is specific responsibility. Resettlement must ensure that people have new housing and new livelihoods that are better than or at least equal to the old place,” the Prime Minister directed.

Immediately after this conference, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong convened an urgent meeting with relevant departments and branches to thoroughly grasp and concretize the Government's direction.

Mr. Phuong requested localities with railway lines passing through to urgently review, make detailed plans, prioritize synchronous implementation of resettlement areas, and ensure completion of all site handover work for the high-speed railway project before the end of 2026.

“We must be quick but methodical and thorough. We must do it quickly but in accordance with the law, ensuring long-term effectiveness. We cannot be passive when the project is implemented,” Mr. Phuong emphasized.

Hue also aims to complete procedures and start construction on a number of resettlement areas on August 19, 2025, according to the timeline required by the Prime Minister.

Hue City leaders requested departments, branches, and authorities at all levels to promote a sense of responsibility, coordinate closely, and not shirk responsibility to turn resolutions and instructions into concrete actions, making an important contribution to the success of the national key railway project.
