Pregnant woman TTXM (34 years old, living in Can Tho City) was pregnant for the first time, 36 weeks pregnant. After traveling more than 150 km by motorbike, Ms. M. had a stomachache and was taken to Can Tho University Hospital for examination.

Doctors performed an emergency cesarean section, the baby girl weighed 2.6 kg.

The surgery was a success. The mother was admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department for monitoring and special care. The baby received respiratory support and was able to breathe normally after resuscitation.

According to doctors, placental abruption is a rare and very dangerous obstetric disease. If not treated promptly, the risk of the baby dying in the womb is very high due to lack of oxygen and nutrients. For pregnant women, placental abruption can cause complications such as blood clotting disorders, uterine atony, hysterectomy or life-threatening.
