According to Tuoi Tre Online in Kien Giang province, many businesses and people are using the service of renting mai flowers to display on Tet as a trend.

Instead of spending a large amount of money to buy mai flowers to play Tet, many people and businesses have chosen to rent mai pots to save costs and time on care while still having a beautiful mai pot to welcome spring.

With nearly 5 years of experience renting Tet apricot blossoms, Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy - a spring flower market vendor at Phu Gia Square, Rach Gia City - said that this year the number of customers coming to rent Tet apricot blossoms has increased compared to last year.

One of the most important reasons for customers to rent apricot blossoms is convenience. Instead of having to spend time taking care of apricot blossoms, customers only need to order, choose the apricot blossom style they like and the delivery time to be able to enjoy Tet with peace of mind.

"I have rented out 4 Tet apricot pots for 15 million VND/pot. The usual rental period is until the 7th and 10th of each year, after which I will take the apricots home," said Ms. Thuy.

The rental price depends on the size, quality and beauty of the apricot tree. Large, beautiful and well-shaped apricot pots have a high rental price of 10-20 million VND/pot. Smaller apricot trees, which do not require too high aesthetics, have a rental price ranging from 4-8 million VND.

Unlike the vendors at the spring flower market at Tran Quang Khai Square, Rach Gia City, who only sell chrysanthemums, marigolds, etc., Mr. Duong Lam Dong (60 years old) specializes in renting out Tet apricot blossoms with "huge" pots of apricot blossoms.

At his rental display area, there are more than 100 large and small apricot pots with rental prices ranging from 5-20 million VND/pot.

"Customers not only save on shopping costs but can also change their choices every year without having to worry about what will happen to the apricot tree after Tet. The apricot pot after Tet will be returned to the supplier and customers do not have to spend time taking care of it," Mr. Dong happily said.

Especially for households that do not have space to grow mai or busy people, the mai rental service helps them easily have a beautiful mai pot that is suitable for their home space without having to worry about taking care of the tree throughout the Tet season.

"My husband and I are both busy with work and have small children, but still want to have a beautiful apricot tree to decorate during Tet. So I find the apricot tree rental service very reasonable.

With a price of about 4-5 million VND to display for 10 days of Tet, it is both economical and extremely convenient," said Ms. Phan Thi Bang Nha, residing in Vinh Thanh ward, Rach Gia city.
