(Dan Tri) - After 2 years of construction, the T3 passenger terminal construction project has taken shape and is in the process of completing installation and architecture before being put into operation in April 2025.
The Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 construction project is nearing completion with 83% of the total work completed. The project is expected to be put into operation on April 30, 2025, the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, and at the same time resolve the long-standing overload situation at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Terminal 3 is planned on a land area of over 16 hectares, located between the operating airport and the defense area. At the end of 2024, the project entered the final stage. ACV Airport Corporation, the investor, launched a competition for the last 120 days and nights to complete the entire project, requiring the construction units to make maximum efforts, especially in the context of the approaching Lunar New Year. Currently, all 21 bridges of the bridge deck are 100% completed, the railing is expected to be installed in January 2025 and the bridge will be completed on February 20, 2025. Mr. Le Khac Hong, Head of the T3 Station Project Management Board, said that the entire project has completed power supply and is in the process of completing the interior. The electromechanical section has reached 92%. The indoor fire protection system has been installed at 65% and is expected to be completed in January 2025, while the outdoor fire protection system has reached 74% of the volume, with 2,350m/3,174m of pipes completed. The telescopic bridge system has completed 13/13 foundations and is expected to be installed in January 2025. The glass elevator project outside the building is being installed.
The high-rise parking lot project combines non-aviation services with a complex of 2 basements, 4 above-ground floors and a 3-storey motorbike parking lot connected by a bridge corridor on a total floor area of 130,000m2. This will be a parking lot, a commercial center, a hotel, and a restaurant serving passengers, employees, and local residents. Regarding the landscape outside the station, the compaction work has completed 8,600m2/25,500m2, reaching 33%. About 283/874 trees have been gathered at the construction site, reaching 30%. The glass curtain wall category is part of the architectural finishing part, currently reaching 94% of the construction and installation volume. The expanded aircraft parking area project has been 100% completed and is completing acceptance procedures. Inspired by the traditional Ao Dai, the station roof architecture is designed softly, similar to the existing station, carrying the youthful message, the vitality of a dynamic city that is striving to develop. Below is the passenger terminal ceiling with completed floor frame and attic ceiling. The T3 terminal construction project will start in December 2022, with 3 main items including: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking garage combined with non-aviation services and overpass system in front of the terminal. The total investment is 10,990 billion VND. According to the design, Terminal T3 will accommodate 20 million passengers per year. The terminal has 1 basement, 4 upper floors, and a total floor area of 112,500 square meters. The terminal is connected to the parking lot through 26 aircraft gates (13 telescopic gates and 13 bus gates); there are 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands. The project not only improves aviation infrastructure but also plays a strategic role in completely solving the congestion problem at Tan Son Nhat airport for many years.
