Accordingly, the Food Safety Department received information about a suspected food poisoning case that occurred after eating bread purchased at the "Co Ba" store at Ben Dinh intersection, Ward 7, Vung Tau City. Up to now, 135 people have been infected with symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and have been hospitalized for treatment.

In the face of the above situation, the Food Safety Department requests the Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to urgently direct hospitals where patients are being treated to focus all resources on actively treating patients, not to affect their health and lives. In case of necessity, it is possible to request professional consultation support from higher-level hospitals.

The Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province investigated to determine the cause of the suspected poisoning according to regulations, traced the origin of the food suspected of causing poisoning, and took food samples and specimens for testing to find the cause.

The Food Safety Department requested the Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to temporarily suspend the operation of the facility suspected of causing the poisoning and investigate the facility's implementation of food safety regulations. The unit will strictly handle violations of food safety regulations (if any) and publicize the results to promptly warn the community.

In addition, the units have increased propaganda and guidance for collective kitchens, food service establishments, and street food vendors to ensure hygiene and food safety conditions. The establishments strictly implement the management of food ingredients' origin, three-step food inspection, food sample storage, and hygiene in processing stages.

In addition, units propagate and educate people about food safety knowledge and measures to prevent food poisoning, to raise awareness, change behavior and habits in choosing and using food, and not use food of unknown origin, label, or source.
