Quang Tri: Vice Principal temporarily suspended after student suspected of poisoning

On October 2, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province, announced that it had decided to temporarily suspend the Vice Principal in charge of boarding at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities for 15 days.

The suspension period is from October 2. The reason for Ms. D.THH's temporary suspension is because of her actions that have caused outrage in public opinion, especially with parents of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School.

The decision of the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune has been sent to Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for all parents to be notified.

As reported by VNA, at around 8:00 a.m. on September 26, 40 students were suspected of food poisoning after breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School.

Immediately afterwards, the school coordinated with the authorities and parents to mobilize vehicles to take the children to Le Thuy General Hospital for examination and treatment.

According to initial information, my breakfast included banh tay (a type of cake made from sticky rice and wrapped in banana leaves).

Regarding the above incident, after the students were discharged from the hospital, 75 students did not come to class. The incident caused many conflicting and indignant messages on social networks.

On October 1, representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province and the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune had a meeting with parents of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School to clarify the reason why 75 students did not attend class.

Here, parents expressed their anger and concern about the risk of food insecurity at school.

Listening to the suggestions, recommendations and feedback from parents, the leaders of the Education sector, the commune and the school have committed to reviewing the boarding and kitchen procedures; at the same time, they will strictly handle the responsibilities of relevant individuals and groups when there is an official conclusion. By the morning of October 2, all the above students had returned to school.
