On February 11, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg stated that any suggestion that NATO allies would not protect each other would undermine the entire security of the military alliance and put American and European soldiers in danger.

“Any attack on NATO will be met with a strong and united response,” Mr. Stoltenberg added.
The above statement was made by Mr. Stoltenberg to refute comments by former US President Donald Trump about not protecting NATO allies who do not pay enough.
Earlier, speaking to supporters in Nevada on January 27, former President Donald Trump said that America had lost its way and that the policies of incumbent President Joe Biden were the cause.
Regarding the US-NATO relationship, Mr. Donald Trump said he did not believe in NATO's desire to protect the US. "I hate to tell you this about NATO, if we need their help, for example, if we are attacked, I do not believe they will be there (to protect us)," he emphasized.
