
During the recent flood, Trung Gia commune was the most severely affected, with 4,041 households with 16,417 people flooded and isolated in 18 villages. Participating in the general cleaning were 320 officers and soldiers of Hanoi City Police; 150 students of the People's Security College; 150 officers and soldiers of Regiment 141, Division 312 and hundreds of officers, union members, veteran members, women, union members, youth, teachers of schools... The forces coordinated to clean mud, collect waste, clear sewers, disinfect residential areas, schools, cultural houses, and inter-village roads.

Secretary of the Trung Gia Commune Party Committee Le Huu Manh emphasized that the campaign is a meaningful activity, not only contributing to cleaning the environment and preventing post-flood epidemics, but also spreading the spirit of solidarity and close military-civilian ties.

Previously, to promptly encourage forces participating in supporting people in flood prevention and control, the Trung Gia Commune Party Committee unexpectedly awarded certificates of merit to Major Tong Van Ha and Sergeant Bui Van Lam (of Regiment 141, Division 312) for their brave actions of rushing into flood waters to rescue victims...
