Central Youth Union delegation visits Major General Dang Quoc Bao

TPO - The delegation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee led by Mr. Bui Quang Huy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee offered incense and respectfully bowed before the spirit of Major General Dang Quoc Bao - former Member of the 4th Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Science and Education Committee, former First Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee.

Due to old age and poor health, Major General Dang Quoc Bao passed away at 9:02 a.m. on September 15 (ie August 13, Giap Thin year), at the age of 97. The funeral service for Major General Dang Quoc Bao will be at 7:00 a.m. on September 18 at the National Funeral House; the memorial service and funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. on September 18. Major General Dang Quoc Bao will be buried at Lac Hong Vien cemetery ( Hoa Binh ).

The delegation of the Central Youth Union includes the Central Youth Union Secretariat, former First Secretaries of the Central Youth Union, permanent representatives of the Party Committee, heads of mass organizations and heads of departments and units of the Central Youth Union.

The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, led by Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Bui Quang Huy, offered incense to the soul of Major General Dang Quoc Bao.

The delegation included former First Secretaries of the Central Youth Union: Comrade Ha Quang Du - former member of the Party Central Committee, former First Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Comrade Vu Trong Kim - former member of the Party Central Committee, former First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Vietnam; Comrade Hoang Binh Quan - former member of the Party Central Committee, former First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Honorary Chairman of the Central Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association; Comrade Dao Ngoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs ; Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education; Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

The delegation included comrades in the Central Youth Union Secretariat: Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Youth Union of Vietnam; Comrade Ngo Van Cuong - Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Comrade Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Permanent Deputy Head of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth; Comrade Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; Comrade Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association; comrades representing the leaders of the Central Youth Union's departments and units.

The delegation of the Central Youth Union offered incense and bowed respectfully, expressing condolences to Major General Dang Quoc Bao.

Former First Secretary of the Central Youth Union expressed condolences to the family of Major General Dang Quoc Bao.

Major General Dang Quoc Bao (1927 – 2024). He was a member of the 4th Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's Science and Education Commission (now the Central Propaganda Commission), and First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.

He joined the revolution in May 1945 and was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in the same year. In February 1947, he enlisted in the army and was assigned to the Military Political School, Head of the Political Department of Regiment 140.

During his nearly 30 years in the military, Mr. Dang Quoc Bao held many different positions. In 1974, he was promoted to the rank of Major General.

In 1976, Mr. Dang Quoc Bao transferred to the civil service and held the position of Deputy Minister of Universities and Vocational Secondary Schools.

At the 4th Party Congress (1976), he was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee. In 1978, he was elected as First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.

In 1982, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Science and Education. In 1987, he was appointed Head of the Central Committee for Science and Education. He retired in 1991.

Major General Dang Quoc Bao was awarded many medals by the Party and State such as Ho Chi Minh Medal; First Class Independence Medal; Military Exploit Medal (First, Second, Third Class); First Class Resistance Medal.
