On the afternoon of October 16, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a workshop to collect expert opinions on the Draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended). Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired the conference.

In general, the Project on Cultural Heritage Law inherits and amends many provisions of the current Law on Cultural Heritage and supplements many new provisions to overcome limitations and shortcomings in institutions and policies, and resolve problems arising in practice. After being absorbed and revised, the Project on Cultural Heritage Law (amended) has a structure including: 9 chapters, 100 articles, 2 articles less than the draft submitted at the 7th Session. The Project on Cultural Heritage has expanded the scope of regulation (documentary heritage) and added subjects of application (community); supplemented provisions on investment, construction, renovation of works inside and outside the relic protection area; business activities, services on cultural heritage; conditions to ensure activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage...; inherited and supplemented provisions on protecting and promoting the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. In addition, the draft Law has chosen to legalize a number of provisions in sub-law documents such as: conditions and procedures for granting certificates of practice in buying and selling relics, antiques, national treasures, etc., increasing the specificity and feasibility of the Law.
Giving opinions on the Draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended), delegates discussed and contributed additional opinions on a number of contents on: regulations on protecting and promoting the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage; criteria for identifying scenic spots; investment and construction of works in relic protection areas; management of relics, antiquities and national treasures; ranking and de-ranking of relics; assessment of heritage impacts; conservation fund for cultural heritage; museum service business...

After listening to the opinions of the delegates, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, highly appreciated the opinions and analysis of the provisions, issues and contents raised in the draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended) of the delegates; many opinions were of in-depth, high quality and dedicated nature to contribute to the draft Law. The Provincial National Assembly Delegation will receive and synthesize all opinions of the delegates to study and contribute opinions at the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly .
