Dialogue on preferential policies for people with meritorious services in An Minh commune

On the morning of September 25, the Military Command of An Giang province coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs, the Veterans Association and the Provincial Social Insurance to organize a dialogue on preferential policies and regimes for people with revolutionary contributions in An Minh commune.

At the dialogue, many opinions were raised regarding contents such as war invalids' records, implementation of the Prime Minister's decision, support for house repair and construction, health insurance, rewards, support for families in difficult circumstances...

Mr. Tran Minh Hong spoke at the dialogue.

Mr. Tran Minh Hong, resident of Vam Xang hamlet, suggested: “Many people who participated in the resistance war are now old and their health has declined due to the consequences of the war. I hope the Government will consider lowering the age of receiving elderly benefits so that people can soon enjoy their legitimate rights.”

Mr. Lu Van Ut, residing in Thanh Phung Tay hamlet, said: “I joined the resistance war in 1970, have received medals and orders, but currently do not receive monthly allowances. I request the State to pay attention so that those who directly participated in the resistance war like us can enjoy preferential policies.”

Mr. Trieu Van Hon requested the departments to help him find archived records and consider support for building a house according to Decision 290/2005/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister .

Mr. Trieu Van Hon, residing in Hamlet 1, said: “I joined the revolution in 1969 in the old Dong Hung commune, but my medal file was lost so I could not complete the procedures to receive the chemical poisoning regime. I hope the departments will help me find the archived files and consider support to build a house according to Decision 290/2005/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.”

There were more than 10 other comments revolving around issues of disability records, health insurance regimes, support for families in difficulty, etc. All expressed the desire for preferential policies for people with meritorious services to be implemented fairly, promptly and to the right target.

Representatives of the An Giang Provincial Military Command, the Department of Home Affairs, the Veterans Association and the Provincial Social Insurance directly answered many questions raised by delegates, and at the same time accepted issues beyond their authority to recommend superiors to consider and resolve according to regulations.
