On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the First Victory on August 2 and 5 (1964-2024), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and armed forces of the province, led by comrade Nguyen Xuan Ky, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of the 170th Naval Brigade.

Visiting and encouraging officers and soldiers of Brigade 170, Naval Region 1, the Quang Ninh Provincial Delegation and Brigade 170 Navy reviewed the glorious tradition of officers and soldiers of Squadron 135 - the predecessor of today's Brigade 170. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, officers and soldiers of Squadron 135 drove away the Ma Doc ship that violated our country's waters, achieving the first victory of the Vietnam People's Navy (August 2 and 5, 1964).

On behalf of the delegation of Quang Ninh province, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council expressed his pride in the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, the heroic Vietnam People's Navy, and the heroic army and people of Quang Ninh. At the same time, he expressed his respect, remembrance and gratitude to the heroic martyrs and people of Quang Ninh who heroically sacrificed their lives in the First Victory, creating the immortal spirit of "dare to fight, know how to fight and win" of the Vietnam People's Navy and the army and people of the North in the resistance war against the US to save the country and against the destructive war of the US imperialists.

The Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and delegates listened to officers of Naval Brigade 170 introduce historical events of the Vietnam People's Navy.

Recording the tradition, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: Continuing the tradition of the predecessor units participating in the victory of the Navy's first battle in 1964, we vow to unite with one heart, the army and the people with one will, the entire army with one will to resolutely build a revolutionary, regular, elite, modern Vietnam People's Army; build Quang Ninh province into a solid provincial defense area in terms of national defense - security, a cooperative front line, and international economic competition; build the 170th Naval Brigade with solidarity, coordination, overcoming difficulties, good training, and good combat readiness. Thereby, contributing to maintaining the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the beloved Northeast region of the Fatherland, absolutely not being passive or surprised in any circumstances.
