When the propaganda poster about the historical event of Gac Ma by the Young Theory Club of Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 posted on social networks, it created much outrage from public opinion.

Some people discovered that the image of a Vietnamese navy soldier in the poster was drawn by AI but was holding an American gun, wearing an American helmet, and wearing American shoes, and asserted that the AI-generated content was not historically accurate.

"Children, if you want to honor and remember the martyrs, you must study history extensively and carefully. Drawing it completely wrong like this loses its sacredness. Looking at the picture, you think it's an American soldier but holding the wrong flag," said one person.

Immediately after that, on the fanpage of the HPU2 Young Theory Club, a very receptive apology letter was posted, stating that on the morning of March 14, 2024, the Young Theory Club of Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 posted an article related to the historic battle on Gac Ma Island.

However, due to technical errors when using AI without reviewing and censoring posted content, media images have errors.

"It was our fault for not checking the image content carefully before posting. We would like to thank interested readers who frankly pointed out the errors and omissions in the poster we posted so that we can learn from them for next time.

This is also a profound lesson for our communication work," the apology letter said.

Currently, the HPU2 Young Theory Club fanpage has also been temporarily locked.

The apology was posted on the fanpage of the Young Theory Club of Hanoi National University of Education 2.

Before the club's apology, many people thought that the young people had frankly admitted their mistakes and corrected them, and that adults also need to be tolerant.

"A sincere apology and should receive tolerance. The children are young, acting out of patriotism, youthful enthusiasm, just a mistake, not any other bad motive.

Hopefully this will be a profound lesson for you, before you step out of the university gate, become teachers, and continue to train and foster patriotism in generations of students," one person said.

Another account reminded: "A young club that loves Vietnam means loving and respecting the history of the Vietnamese people, so we must be careful and dedicated in our work. We cannot be careless or superficial when promoting history!"
