"Dak Lak needs to reposition itself in new conditions, must answer the big question: What do you want in the next 5 years, 10 years and what do you do to make that wish come true" - the direction of Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th Party Congress Document Subcommittee Nguyen Van Nen at the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 is not only a suggestion but also a guideline for the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province to enter the new term with a strategic vision, aspiration for innovation and strong development.

Building multiple competitive brands

The report at the Congress showed that in the 2020-2025 term, most of the targets have been completed; the growth rate and economic restructuring have been maintained. increasing GRDP scale by 1.75 times compared to the beginning of the term, with an average increase of 6.24%/year.

Notably, the agricultural sector has made remarkable progress, contributing many products for export; many modern technologies have been put into production, forming a chain from production to consumption with the active participation of enterprises and farmers. Thereby, forming a new generation of farmers who are dynamic, creative, bold in applying science and technology to production, increasing the knowledge content in key agricultural, forestry and industrial products, contributing to building many competitive brands. Typical is the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand that has strongly developed in the direction of specialty coffee to realize the goal of " Dak Lak is the destination of world coffee "; the Phu Yen lobster brand and many other products are also developing.

Along with that, the province has effectively implemented ethnic policies, has had many specific policies and solutions to solve land, capital, technology, production organization, sustainable poverty reduction in ethnic minority areas and spontaneous migrants. Pay attention to implementing religious policies, promoting patriotism and good values ​​of religious communities in building and defending the Fatherland, promoting national solidarity.

However, the growth rate is not commensurate with the potential; industrial and tourism infrastructure is not yet synchronized; the poverty rate in ethnic minority areas is still high; the quality of education and healthcare is still limited...

The political report submitted to the Congress identified the general goal by 2030 of building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; effectively exploiting the potential, advantages, and cultural identities of ethnic groups for rapid and sustainable development; continuing to innovate the growth model based on science and technology, innovation, green economy, and digital economy; combining economic development with ensuring social security, protecting the environment, and strengthening national defense and security.

The Congress set out 18 targets, of which the average GRDP in the 2026 - 2030 period will reach 10.5%/year; the average GRDP per capita in 2030 will reach 153 million VND; total social investment capital will reach over 620,000 billion VND; the digital economy will account for 30% of GRDP; the poverty rate in ethnic minority areas will decrease by an average of 3%/year, and by 2030 there will be no poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard.

The Congress also identified eight key tasks and three breakthroughs: Developing high-quality human resources; promoting science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; and maximizing all resources to invest in synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure.

One of the highlights that Politburo member and Standing Member of the Party's XIV Congress Document Subcommittee Nguyen Van Nen especially noted was the outstanding advantages when Dak Lak and Phu Yen merged. Accordingly, the province has an important strategic position in terms of national defense and security; is a gateway on the East-West corridor; has forests, fertile land, deep-water seaports, long coastlines, and large territorial waters; and abundant labor resources, rich cultural and historical traditions. That is the development space for Dak Lak not only to affirm its role as the center of the Central Highlands but also to become an important growth pole connecting the Central Highlands - Central Coast - Southern Laos - Northeastern Cambodia.
