Weak cash flow, VN-Index down

On the last trading session of the week, September 26, the stock market moved slowly with weak cash flow, the VN-Index reversed, falling more than 5 points.

On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, at the end of the session, VN-Index decreased 5.39 points (0.32%) to 1,660.7 points; VN30-Index decreased 6.02 points (-0.32%) to 1,852.65 points.

During the session, the market had 3 green periods but could not maintain for long. Therefore, most of the trading time, the index representing the floor was red.

This session, the cash flow was quite weak because investors did not accept to place orders at high prices. On the electronic trading board, the number of stocks that decreased in price dominated with 203 stocks going down and 104 stocks going up. In the VN30 group, the number of stocks that decreased in price was 4 times higher than the number of stocks that increased (21 stocks and 4 stocks).

VIC continued to be the stock that supported the market in this session. The price increase of 3.8%, although higher than many times in the session, was still much lower than the previous session. Therefore, the contribution of 5.61 points of this stock to the VN-Index only helped the market decrease more slowly but could not avoid the down session.

Other codes such as CTG, KDH, KBC, HDG contributed 0.51-0.15 points.

On the other hand, banking stocks were among the leading codes that took away points. VPB took the most points, taking away 1 point; followed by HDB (0.67 points), BID (0.57 points)…

The industry groups that lost points dominated; in which, essential aviation trade, energy, healthcare equipment and services, and securities were the ones that decreased by more than 1%. Meanwhile, the hardware and equipment, insurance, and real estate industries increased by more than 1%.

Liquidity was low with approximately VND27,000 billion changed hands. Foreign investors were strong net sellers. This group bought nearly VND1,911 billion and sold over VND3,954 billion.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the total transaction value reached nearly VND2,400 billion. At the end of the session, the HNX-Index stopped at 276.06 points, down 1.59 points (-0.57%); the HNX30-Index reached 601.53 points after falling 6.65 points (-1.09%).
