Gasoline price forecast to increase by 200-300 VND/liter

World oil prices today

World oil prices in today's trading session, August 15 (Vietnam time), recorded an increase. WTI crude oil was at 77.25 USD/barrel, up 0.27 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.35%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 76.98 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 77.37 USD/barrel.

Brent crude oil was at $80 a barrel, up $0.23, or 0.30%. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $79.76 a barrel and opened today at $79.91 a barrel.

Escalating conflict in the Middle East could put pressure on crude supplies from major oil-producing regions, Reuters reported. However, the likelihood of an escalation appears low as Iran believes a new ceasefire with Hamas could prevent retaliation.

Domestic gasoline prices today

On August 15, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:

The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of August 8. Accordingly, RON 95-III gasoline decreased the most, by 930 VND/liter, followed by E5 RON 92 gasoline, which decreased by 901 VND/liter. Fuel oil price decreased by 858 VND/kg, diesel oil decreased by 737 VND/liter, and kerosene decreased by 684 VND/liter. This is the 5th consecutive decrease in domestic gasoline and oil prices.

Gasoline discounts today

Discount prices of petroleum products today, August 15, at some domestic petroleum agents are as follows:

Pvoil applies discount rates on August 15: Oil discount 1,250 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,050 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 850 VND/liter. This discount rate is applied at Pvoil Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan warehouse.

Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on August 15 as follows: Oil discount: 1,200 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,000 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 800 VND/liter.

MIPEC gasoline discount on August 15: 95-III gasoline: 1,000; E5 gasoline: 850; oil: 1,300 VND/liter

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period

According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. It is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, petroleum prices may increase. Of which, gasoline will increase by 200-300 VND/liter; oil will increase by 100 VND/liter.

Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 16 times and decreased 15 times. Oil prices have increased 15 times and decreased 16 times.
