Taking place over two days, September 6-7, the Festival is an ideal cultural and tourist destination for locals and visitors, while also creating an opportunity for Korean products to reach closer to Vietnamese consumers.
Right after the opening ceremony, many tourists and locals present at the festival enthusiastically participated in "check-in" the event in area 1.
Area 2 is where visitors can experience and try typical Korean dishes for free and visit and shop for food at the stalls,...
In particular, many young people and families came to area 3 to experience and prepare authentic Korean dishes and drinks such as kimbap and mocktails.
In area 4, visitors can enjoy Korean music with violin and guitar performances, along with traditional Hoi An folk art performances.
The Korean Food Festival in Hoi An 2025 is an event organized by SINASEAN Vietnam Co., Ltd., representing the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of Korea and the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation (aT) in collaboration with the Hoi An World Heritage Conservation Center and the People's Committee of Hoi An Ward, Da Nang City with the aim of bringing activities that contribute to the development of Hoi An tourism; at the same time, introducing traditional Korean cuisine to the people and tourists.
The event is not only a journey to discover and experience typical Korean cuisine, but also brings visitors and locals an attractive space for cultural and artistic exchange. Thereby contributing to promoting culture, tourism, promoting and strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
Speaking at the opening event, Mr. Cho Sungbae - Director of the Korea Agricultural and Fisheries Trade Company in Ho Chi Minh City said: "Hoi An is one of the most popular tourist cities in Vietnam, attracting countless domestic and foreign tourists every year.
By organizing the Festival here, we hope to bring Korean cuisine closer to people's daily lives, while enhancing cultural exchange and cooperation between Korea and Vietnam in the culinary field."
“At the festival, we are honored to introduce the diversity and quintessence of Korean food products to international tourists as well as local consumers in Hoi An. Hopefully, the event will bring to the people and tourists wonderful memories of Korean culinary flavors combined with the cultural beauty of Hoi An,” Mr. Cho Sungbae shared.
Hoi An is a land where cultures meet, where traditional arts and contemporary creativity are encouraged to develop in the spirit of respecting identity and harmony with the community, and is a locality belonging to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
In that journey, international cultural exchange programs play an important role in spreading the message of an open, diverse and humane Hoi An.
Cuisine is one of the creative fields that is being effectively promoted in Hoi An with the presence of diverse cuisines in the world, especially Korean cuisine, as the number of Korean tourists visiting Hoi An and Da Nang is increasing.
In order to enhance international cooperation and cultural exchange and foster friendly relations between localities of Vietnam and Korea, and continue to carry out the tasks of building a UNESCO Creative City in the field of handicrafts and folk arts; recently, Hoi An has also organized many exchange programs and experience sharing with localities in Korea.
Recently, on September 3, the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center welcomed and worked with a delegation of people working in communications and marketing from localities in Jeollanamdo province, South Korea.
Jeollanamdo Province is famous for its cultural heritage and scenic spots, especially its ancient architecture and rich cultural traditions that share many similarities with the world cultural heritage Hoi An Ancient Town.
This creates a premise for the parties to learn, build connections, and long-term cooperation in the fields of conservation, promotion of cultural heritage and tourism activities in the coming time.
Previously, on August 4-5, the program "Street art exchange of Yeongam artists, Korea in Hoi An" also took place in Hoi An ancient town.
