According to online booking platform Agoda, the number of travelers searching for rooms through this platform recorded a 4% increase in check-ins from August to October 2024 at popular destinations in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Sa Pa, Ha Giang , Ha Long Bay, Hai Phong and Cat Ba compared to the same period in 2023.

“This reflects steady interest in these locations,” said an Agoda representative, adding that he believes travelers will gradually return to these destinations in the final months of the year.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, country director of Agoda Vietnam, shared that data also shows that Vietnamese tourism is having many positive changes as the number of searches about Vietnam from international tourists has increased in the past three months of travel.

July saw a 4% increase in searches for Vietnam compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, August data recorded a strong 31% increase in tourist interest. Notably, September saw a boom in searches with an 84% increase compared to the same period last year as international tourists were frantically looking for destinations for Christmas and New Year.

Agoda's data on the rising trend of searching for accommodation is completely similar to the data just released by the General Statistics Office: the number of tourists to Vietnam in the first 9 months of the year was 43% higher than the same period in 2023.

With 12.7 million international arrivals, this number has surpassed the total number of visitors for the whole year 2023.

According to records, this is the most beautiful time to tour the East and Northwest with beautiful golden terraced fields like paintings, cool air and unique indigenous culture.

According to information from travel agencies and local tourism management agencies, since reopening, tourist destinations in Lao Cai, Yen Bai , Ha Giang, Cao Bang, etc. have welcomed many groups of visitors, mainly international visitors. For domestic visitors, small groups of friends and families are the main ones, while corporate groups and units are still cautious.

At Vietravel, the number of customers booking tours to Hanoi during this time still recorded a slight increase compared to the same period last year. Although the impact of Typhoon Yagi caused some short-term difficulties, Hanoi's weather quickly stabilized with cool autumn air, creating a great attraction for tourists.

Meanwhile, a representative of Viet Travel Company said that the special thing about the autumn season in Vietnam is that the visiting time is not long, like the rice ripening season, buckwheat flower season... the colors will change over time in the East and Northwest of Vietnam. Therefore, the general mentality of tourists is not to miss the opportunity to see the most beautiful season of the year.

After a period of being affected by the weather, localities have many preferential policies for tourists.

Many localities not only quickly restored tourism activities after the storm, but also proactively organized many events and products in the last months of the year. In addition, travel companies are also encouraged to inform tourists about safety measures so that they can travel with peace of mind.
