Bac Khe 1 hydroelectric dam broke in Lang Son

On the afternoon of October 7, the Bac Khe 1 hydroelectric dam (Kim Dong commune, old Trang Dinh district) broke about 10 meters, causing water to rush into the Management Board and downstream.

The dam broke at 2 p.m. near the spillway. The initial break was small, then widened. Water from the dam spilled downstream, causing the stream to rise rapidly, threatening residential areas along the stream, said local resident Nong Huyen.
