Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long stated that Resolution 70 has become a beacon of light, guiding the entire energy sector in the new period.

"By 2025, Vietnam's power system will have risen to lead ASEAN in total installed capacity, with an expected scale exceeding 90,000 MW, and will be among the top 20 countries in the world . However, the process of summarizing Resolution 55 also pointed out limitations and shortcomings that need to be overcome," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), gave his opinion on the implementation of Resolution 70.

Accordingly, the Group has proactively assigned functional departments to develop programs and action plans to concretize the spirit of Resolution 70 such as: It is necessary to closely follow the guiding viewpoints of Resolution 70, especially in perfecting the system of mechanisms and policies.

"It is necessary to soon apply a two-component electricity price mechanism. If fully and transparently implemented, this mechanism will eliminate the need to maintain price differences between electricity buyers" - EVN General Director expressed.

In addition, it is necessary to develop a mechanism for mobilizing electricity sources in accordance with energy security, prioritizing base sources (coal, gas) according to specific technical operating characteristics, while encouraging renewable energy to invest in storage systems, ensuring the ability to participate in a transparent and fair electricity market...

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh, General Director of the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO), in the period of national energy development to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the major challenge will be in the period of 2027-2032 with the risk of difficulties in electricity supply and ensuring energy security.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that the Resolution is just the beginning. The biggest challenge is to organize its implementation in practice.

"This is a difficult and arduous period, requiring determination, creativity and the spirit of "do it now, do it now". There is no longer the concept of progressing step by step, but from 2025 we have had to solve difficulties and problems in mechanisms and policies" - the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade emphasized.
