Many sections of the dike are close to the canal banks, ready to overflow when it rains.

According to reports, heavy rains in recent days, combined with floodwaters from upstream, have caused water levels to rise suddenly. Many sections of the dike have reached the edge of the canal and need to be reinforced promptly to protect farmers' production areas.

People carry out reinforcement to protect production areas.

Specifically, the commune has 250 hectares of 55-day-old rice that is being threatened by floodwaters. Local authorities and people are temporarily reinforcing it. It is known that all of this rice area was sown outside the crop schedule, despite the recommendations of professional sectors.

According to the October forecast bulletin of the Southern Institute of Planning and Irrigation, in early October there will be many heavy rains combined with rapidly rising tides, so the risk of flooding is very high.

The delegation surveyed the actual situation in the area where 250 hectares of rice are under threat.

Through the survey, the delegation requested the People's Committee of Hung Dien commune to review and reinforce weak embankments; proactively develop drainage plans to prevent flooding; regularly monitor flood and high tide situations to take timely measures./.
