This is the second time that CRS Vietnam and VNMAC have jointly organized the online contest "Education on risks of mines and explosives" in the central provinces of Vietnam, where there are still many risks of mine accidents due to the high level of contamination from post-war mines and explosives.
Previously, in March 2022, the online contest "Education on risks of bombs, mines and explosives" for teachers and primary and secondary school students was jointly organized by the two sides for the first time in Da Nang City and attracted 45,481 participants. The success of the contest in Da Nang is the basis for the parties to continue to coordinate and expand to four central provinces: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, and Thua Thien Hue in 2024.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the period 2010-2023, the Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) coordinated many projects, mobilized international resources, and contributed to Vietnam's survey and clearance of more than 500,000 hectares of bombs, mines and explosives. |
Recently, NPA Quang Binh conducted training for all field staff as soon as they returned to work after the Lunar New Year holiday. This is a regular activity conducted in accordance with NPA's standard operating procedures to ensure the safety and quality of operations. |
