On October 4, the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen organized a workshop on "Solutions to overcome the problem of mispronouncing and misspelled the two initial consonants LN" in educational institutions in the area.
The workshop was connected online to more than 1,700 points at educational institutions, with the participation of nearly 41,000 managers and teachers across the province.
Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen, Pham Dong Thuy, emphasized that standard pronunciation is an important foundation of language education, contributing to preserving the purity of Vietnamese. From there, building a standard school environment and fostering love for Vietnamese, contributing to improving the quality of comprehensive education.
Hung Yen education sector aims to build a standard, friendly, and unique environment in the new era - "the era of national growth".
Mr. Thuy said that through actual surveys at educational institutions, it was found that LN pronunciation errors are quite common, especially in preschool and primary schools, significantly affecting students' language ability, learning outcomes and confidence.
The Department has issued a plan to correct the mispronunciation of the two initial consonants LN for all cadres, teachers and students in the period 2025 - 2030 and launched a widespread and comprehensive movement in all levels of education in the whole province.
The goal for the 2025 - 2026 period is that 80% of staff and teachers will overcome pronunciation errors; 50% of students will significantly improve their pronunciation and spelling errors. In the 2027 - 2030 period, 100% of teachers and 80% of students will no longer make pronunciation mistakes.
At the workshop, Dr. Luong Thi Hien - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University of Education - provided basic scientific knowledge, answered questions and shared practical experiences related to the above content.
Ms. Hien also presented methods of organization, activities, pronunciation training, and spelling of LN suitable for each level of education, helping managers and teachers apply them effectively in teaching practice, contributing to improving the quality of language education in the industry.
Also at the workshop, Director S of Hung Yen Education and Training requested all staff and teachers in the whole province to proactively respond to storm Matmo (storm No. 11).
Mr. Thuy requested administrators and teachers of all schools to closely monitor forecasts and developments of the storm; and strictly follow the province's instructions on prevention work.
Leaders of the Hung Yen education sector also requested educational institutions to proactively develop response measures and promptly reinforce houses, move files, documents, machinery, equipment, tables and chairs to safe places; establish information channels with parents to manage students, and minimize risks of natural disasters to students...
