Meeting to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union

Attending the meeting were former officials of the Provincial Farmers' Association of different periods; representatives of association organizations under the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; officials and civil servants of the Provincial Farmers' Association.

Together reviewing the past 95 years, the Vietnamese farmers have always upheld the spirit of patriotism, the tradition of hard work, creativity, overcoming difficulties and challenges, contributing greatly with the whole people to gloriously complete the cause of national liberation, building and developing the country. Together with the whole country, the Farmers' Association of Son La province was soon formed and has made many contributions to the cause and construction of the province.

Currently, the Provincial Farmers' Association has 74 commune and ward level associations, 2,173 branches, and over 169,000 members. The Association has established and maintained 1,121 branches, 233 professional farmer associations; supported the establishment of 31 new cooperatives and 445 cooperative groups. The Associations at all levels always innovate the content and form of activities; propagate and mobilize members to apply technical advances in production; build economic models applying high technology in production, digital transformation in agriculture, and value chain linkages that have been widely replicated. Effectively implementing the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty". The whole province has more than 18,300 farmer households achieving the title of good farmers in production and business. In addition, the Association at all levels has focused on developing the Farmers Support Fund. Up to now, the total fund has reached nearly 82 billion VND, of which the Association has invested in 229 projects, with 1,798 households borrowing; connecting to create conditions for people to access preferential loans to invest in economic development, increase income, and contribute to promoting the new rural construction program.

With high spirit and sense of responsibility in response to the country's and locality's innovation requirements in implementing the two-level local government, in the coming time, the Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to effectively implement farmers' movements; promote emulation in studying, working, and good production and business. Organize training courses, transfer scientific and technical advances, and guide farmers in applying safe and sustainable production processes to improve the quality and value of agricultural products. Play a good connecting role to create conditions for people to access preferential loans, agricultural insurance and stable consumption markets. Build and strengthen cooperatives and cooperatives to contribute to the formation of effective production and consumption chains. Thereby, build a model of farmers in the period of integration and development, meeting the requirements in the cause of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country.
