Family is the "first school" that nurtures both the body and soul of children.
Many "traps" lurk
As society develops, children's work is increasingly concerned, but in reality, children have been facing many dangers and traps from real life to the virtual world . There are many cases of children being bullied at school, having accidents such as drowning, traffic accidents... Besides the dangers from real life, when accessing cyberspace, children also face many "traps" from harmful content, not suitable for their age. Children are even at risk of being lured, insulted, defamed or having their images and personal information used without their consent.
Sharing about the above issues, Ms. Le Van Anh in Hac Thanh ward said: “Currently, children face many unforeseen dangers such as being lured, kidnapped by strangers, or even abused in close environments such as neighbors and relatives. Children nowadays are gullible and have little experience, so if the family does not teach them early and does not talk to them often, they can easily become victims without knowing who to call.”
As for Ms. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, also from Hac Thanh ward - who discovered that her daughter was being texted by online accounts to entice her to send personal photos - shared: "The cyberspace is full of harmful information, violent and pornographic clips, dangerous trends, and even sophisticated scams and bad guys. Meanwhile, children do not have enough awareness and courage to identify and protect themselves from these dangers."
In the same situation, Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh in Quang Phu ward has an older son in grade 10 - he once had a period of playing games with a group of friends and encountered conflicts online, confided: "From playing games, my son had conflicts with another group of friends. But fortunately, the family discovered the abnormality of my son and investigated and intervened promptly. After that incident, the family monitored him more closely, talked regularly, and encouraged him to study and practice."
Create a solid foundation and support
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once affirmed: “A good family makes a good society, a good society makes a better family. The nucleus of society is the family.” That simple teaching remains valid today. In the context of international integration and the strong development of information technology, the family plays a key role in guiding, educating and protecting children in the face of countless changes in modern life. The family is not only the place where people are born and raised, but also the first “cradle” that forms personality and nurtures the soul. There, children grow up in the loving arms, protection and sharing of parents, grandparents and other members. It is not simply a blood relationship, but also a bond of spirit, morality, intelligence and lifestyle. It is these values that have created a solid foundation for children, helping them to grow up both physically and mentally.
In the development journey of a person, the family is the "first school of life". From the first years of life, children begin to receive the first lessons through the way their parents behave, speak, and live. Every action and word of adults in the family has a profound influence on the process of forming the child's personality. In addition to personality education, the family is also a place to take care of physical health, nurture the spiritual life and protect children from risks and pitfalls. Moreover, the family is a place to create "resistance" for children to proactively identify and stay away from negative factors from the surrounding environment and cyberspace.
Realizing the importance of family for the comprehensive development of children, sectors, units and localities have implemented many models and activities to help raise awareness, care, protection and education capacity for parents, such as groups of parents caring for and developing children; safe villages for women and children; launching a response to the set of criteria for behavior in Vietnamese families... In addition, each parent needs to proactively set an example for their children in the way of living, behaving, studying, training and working so that the family is truly a foundation of love, respect, equality and attachment. At the same time, the family needs to closely coordinate with schools and society in educating children. Only with the companionship of family - school - society, can children truly have a comprehensive development environment in terms of physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects.
