Gia Lai : Nearly 8,200 fishermen have entered safe shelters
On October 21, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command said it had directed border posts at border gates and along the coast to urgently deploy plans to respond to storm No. 12, focusing on controlling and guiding ships not to move into dangerous areas.
Up to now, the Border Guard force has issued 3 urgent dispatches, synchronously deploying storm prevention solutions. A Deputy Commander has been assigned to directly monitor and urge along the entire border line.

The Border Guard has called on nearly 1,900 fishing boats with 8,156 fishermen to anchor safely. In addition, 4,734 boats with more than 33,000 fishermen have come ashore to take shelter from the storm. The Border Guard has also sent 68 officers to the area to propagate and mobilize 1,432 fishermen to proactively avoid the storm, and organized 22 patrols with 75 officers and soldiers to guide boats to anchor safely at Tam Quan, De Gi and Quy Nhon ports.
Currently, 17 teams with 334 officers and soldiers, along with rescue vehicles including 19 cars, 185 motorbikes, 20 boats - canoes, 7 service dogs... are strictly maintaining a ready-to-rescue mode. The communication system is guaranteed to be connected 24/24.

On Nhon Chau Island, the government and functional forces have urgently deployed storm response: pruning trees, clearing obstacles, moving basket boats and fishing boats to safe shelters. Passenger trains to and from the island have been temporarily suspended. Inspection and reinforcement of breakwaters, freshwater reservoirs and civil works are also being urgently carried out.

Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested sectors and localities to activate storm response scenarios and be ready to establish a forward command post in Hoai Nhon when necessary. At the same time, he directed the implementation of the "4 on-site" motto, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, and proactively evacuating people from dangerous areas.
Quang Ngai : Fire flares to call ships to shore
To respond to storm No. 12, on the night of October 20 and early morning of October 21, the Border Guard of Quang Ngai province fired signal flares at four seaports including Sa Ky, Sa Can, Sa Huynh and the Ly Son area to call on ships to urgently take shelter.

Following the direction of the province, relevant units including the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Border Guard, Maritime Port Authority and authorities of coastal communes and Ly Son special zone coordinated to count and call on all fishing vessels to enter safe shelters before 3:00 p.m. on October 21 and temporarily stop going to sea until the weather stabilizes.
Owners of aquaculture cages, especially in Ly Son, are required to complete tying and moving before 4 p.m. the same day to limit damage caused by the storm.
