Gia Lai is ready for the big festival

The 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, is not only an occasion to summarize the 5-year journey full of changes but also an important opportunity to determine a new vision and development strategy with a strong aspiration to rise up, bringing Gia Lai forward quickly on the journey to become a fairly developed province in the country.

With the motto of action "Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Breakthrough-Development", this Congress has the participation of 650 delegates, including 450 official delegates representing the intelligence, mettle and will of the entire Party Committee and people of Gia Lai province.

According to information from the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, the 1st Provincial Party Congress , term 2025-2030, will take place over three days, from October 2-4, at the Provincial Convention Center.

The main content of the Congress is to summarize and evaluate the results of the implementation of the Resolution for the 2020-2025 term and discuss and contribute ideas to the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress. Under the direction of the Politburo , the Congress did not elect a new Party Committee but appointed the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Inspection Committee, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term and appointed the Provincial Party Delegation to attend the 14th National Party Congress. This demonstrates high consensus and unity in the work of organization, preparation, ensuring the inheritance and stability of the political system in the important transition period.

The political report presented to the Congress stated that the 2020-2025 term witnessed many unprecedented difficulties, especially the Covid-19 pandemic and global geopolitical fluctuations. However, under the leadership of the Party Committee, Binh Dinh province (old) achieved and exceeded 21/22 targets of the Resolution; Gia Lai province (old) achieved and exceeded 14/23 targets of the Resolution; in which, the average economic growth rate in the 2020-2025 period reached 6.71%; GRDP per capita reached 3,555 USD/person/year; economic structure shifted in the right direction with the proportion of industry-construction and services accounting for 68.9%; budget revenue by the end of 2025 is estimated at 27,000 billion VND.

Not only the economy, but also the Party building work has achieved many comprehensive results. The organizational apparatus has been streamlined and effective; the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees at all levels have been significantly improved. The Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have operated actively and creatively, promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc.

According to comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Ly, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee has maintained its role as the political nucleus of comprehensive leadership, while creating consensus in society. It is from this foundation that Gia Lai can set breakthrough goals in the coming term.

The atmosphere towards the Congress is spreading throughout the localities in the province. The Provincial Party Standing Committee issued Plan No. 03-KH/TU dated July 15, 2025 on propaganda work for the Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Congress of the Party. On all roads, from Pleiku ward to border districts such as Duc Co, Chu Prong...; from Quy Nhon ward to De Gi, Canh Vinh... colorful flags, banners, and slogans create a vibrant competitive atmosphere.

Towards the new term, the Political Report at the Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress clearly identified five development viewpoints, emphasizing the continued adherence to the goals of national independence and socialism, sustainable development on the basis of cultural identity, science and technology and the strength of great national unity.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Phong Vu, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, said: "Gia Lai has many untapped potentials. Gia Lai province aims to become a regional center for processing, manufacturing, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, services, tourism, semiconductors and artificial intelligence by 2030. The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the 2025-2030 period strives to reach 10%-10.5%/year; GRDP per capita strives to reach 6,300-6,500 USD; budget revenue reaches more than 41,000 billion VND; welcomes 18.5 million tourists and has 20 businesses/1,000 people...

To realize those goals, Gia Lai will focus on 5 growth pillars including: Focusing on developing a strong processing and manufacturing industry, becoming a pillar of the economy; creating a breakthrough in developing renewable energy and green industry, forming a regional renewable energy center; supporting green transformation; developing semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industries associated with forming a regional innovation center; Developing tourism to truly become a spearhead economic sector.

Developing high-tech agriculture and sustainable forestry, forming "agro-industrial bases", building a model of concentrated raw material areas, improving the value chains of key products of the province; Developing port and logistics services, forming logistics centers from Le Thanh international border gate to Quy Nhon port; Developing fast and sustainable urban areas associated with developing the market of industrial real estate, urban real estate, tourism real estate, and service infrastructure.

To successfully implement the Resolution set out at the Congress, Gia Lai identified 4 breakthroughs: Breakthrough in institutionalizing and strongly improving the investment environment; Promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; considering this an important new driving force to promote the province's development; Promoting the development of high-quality human resources to serve the economic restructuring towards industry, high-tech agriculture and digital transformation, green transformation; Creating a breakthrough in investment in the construction of transport infrastructure, irrigation, port-logistics infrastructure, industrial-trade-service infrastructure, digital infrastructure.
