Forging university announcements in Ho Chi Minh City to recruit international students

TPO - The leaders of Binh Duong University (HCMC) confirmed that the red-stamped document about recruiting international students being circulated on social networks is fake, and at the same time warned students and parents to be vigilant to avoid being scammed by bad guys.

On October 9, social networks were abuzz with the sharing of a document with a red seal, signature, and name of the principal, said to be an announcement from Binh Duong University (Phu Loi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), about recruiting students to study abroad in Singapore.

According to the above document, Binh Duong University cooperates with the National University of Singapore to recruit 17 students to study abroad in this country. The condition to be admitted is that students must have a transcript score of 7.5 points or higher and demonstrate financial resources of at least 300 million VND.

The notice also includes a link and requests that those in need update for detailed instructions.

Fake text shared on social media

Regarding the document circulating on social networks, a representative of Binh Duong University affirmed that it was a fake document, not issued by the school.

"Currently, there are some contents and information impersonating the school to collect personal information, call for money transfers or provide illegal payments. Parents and students should not provide personal information or transfer money to any individual or organization without verifying the accuracy of the information" - the representative of Binh Duong University's leadership advised and said that up to now, the school has no information about anyone who has been scammed by the above fake document.
