Update on domestic pepper prices on September 19
The domestic and international pepper markets today continue to maintain a stable momentum, bringing positive signals to this agricultural industry. Pepper prices in all these regions have not changed compared to yesterday. This stability is considered an important factor helping farmers feel secure in production.

Specifically, the pepper market in the Central Highlands and Southeast today continues to be stable, with prices fluctuating from 147,000 - 150,000 VND/kg.
Notably, Dak Lak and Dak Nong are holding the leading position with the highest price of 150,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Ba Ria - Vung Tau follows closely with 149,000 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc , pepper price today is at 147,000 VND/kg.
All provinces recorded unchanged prices compared to yesterday. The market showed stability, bringing positive news to farmers.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in the first half of September, Vietnam exported more than 10,500 tons of pepper, earning 69.3 million USD. The largest export markets remained the US, China and the UAE.
Although the export volume did not fluctuate much compared to the previous month, the US's high tax on transit goods has caused Vietnamese enterprises to limit the import of cheap pepper for re-export. This helps to increase the value and quality of Vietnamese pepper in the international market.
According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), domestic pepper prices are expected to continue to remain high due to limited supply and increased demand from international markets during the year-end holiday season.
To maintain growth momentum, experts emphasize improving product quality, meeting strict quarantine and traceability requirements from high-end markets. This is a double advantage that helps Vietnamese pepper not only increase domestic prices but also maintain its export position. In the long term, focusing on deep processing and brand building will be the key to sustainable development of the pepper industry, instead of relying solely on raw exports.
