Specifically, black tiger shrimp 40 pieces/kg, price 155,000 - 160,000 VND/kg; 30 pieces/kg, price 170,000 - 175,000 VND/kg; 20 pieces/kg, price 215,000 - 220,000 VND/kg; whiteleg shrimp 100 pieces/kg, price 89,000 - 91,000 VND/kg; whiteleg shrimp 70 pieces/kg, price 110,000 - 115,000 VND/kg; whiteleg shrimp 50 pieces/kg, price 177,000 - 122,000 VND/kg; whiteleg shrimp 20 pieces/kg, price 215,000 - 220,000 VND/kg. With this price, minus investment costs, shrimp farmers earn quite high profits.

Having just finished harvesting 4 ponds of white-leg shrimp, Mr. Tran Xuan Phong (Thao Lang Hamlet, Vinh Trach Ward, Ca Mau Province) said that after deducting expenses, his family still had a profit of nearly 500 million VND. According to Mr. Phong, although the family's model of raising white-leg shrimp on tarpaulin ponds has a lower yield than the super-intensive farming model, with a fairly high price, farmers still make a profit.

In addition, Mr. Duong Tung Lam, who has nearly 20 years of experience in shrimp farming, said that in 2025, despite unfavorable weather conditions (mainly heavy rain), thanks to proactive production steps, his family's shrimp grew well. With 4 shrimp ponds following the super-intensive model nearing harvest, Mr. Lam expects profits to reach more than half a billion VND.

Shrimp prices are high, shrimp farmers are all excited. Mr. Tran Minh Son, a super-intensive shrimp farmer with a scale of nearly 10 hectares (Thanh An hamlet, Long Dien commune, Ca Mau province) said that in recent months, shrimp prices have remained high, helping farmers make profits compared to the previous period. Mr. Son said that with the current price, farmers earn a profit of about 70,000 to 80,000 VND/kg. Currently, Mr. Son raises whiteleg shrimp using a 2-stage high-tech model. This model gives high productivity, minimizes environmental impact, helps shrimp reach large sizes, and sells for high prices.

Explaining the reason for the stable high price of shrimp, some shrimp buyers in Ca Mau said that it was due to the increased demand in the domestic market, in addition to factories increasing the purchase of raw shrimp to meet export orders at the end of the year. However, due to the off-season, the output decreased, the supply was scarce, causing the shrimp purchase price to increase.

Mr. Pham Van Muoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province, said that Ca Mau currently has a shrimp farming area of 417,992 hectares; of which, intensive farming area is 21,918 hectares; super-intensive farming area is 10,481 hectares; improved extensive farming area is 385,593 hectares... By the end of September 2025, shrimp farming output will reach 55,000 tons. Ca Mau's annual shrimp output is maintained, quality and value are improved based on three pillars: production organization capacity, value chain linkage and international standard farming areas. Many farming areas have achieved international certification (ASC, BAP, Organic), enhancing the Ca Mau shrimp brand.

To contribute to ensuring the regional growth target (fishery - agriculture - forestry) in 2025 reaching 5.54%, contributing to the province's GRDP growth reaching 8% in 2025 and ensuring "double-digit" growth from 2026 onwards, the Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province said that the unit's orientation for shrimp farming development in the coming time must be based on sustainable factors.

Specifically, continue to encourage the application of biosafety farming processes, VietGAP; strengthen technical training for farmers, control the quality of seeds and input feed. In particular, with the super-intensive shrimp farming model, the province determines to maintain the super-intensive shrimp farming area of 13,200 hectares, with an average yield ranging from 20 - 21 tons/ha/year; in which, apply the production process in the direction of circulation, not discharging waste into the outside environment causing environmental pollution from 1,000 hectares or more. At the same time, expand the concentrated and decentralized super-intensive farming area according to the zero-discharge process from 400 to 500 hectares.

Ca Mau province is also developing 100,000 hectares of improved extensive shrimp farming area, applying science and technology to achieve an average yield of 550 kg/ha/year. Accordingly, the province promotes the transfer of advanced technical processes and technologies to improved extensive shrimp farming to improve productivity and quality in a sustainable manner, contributing to rapid, strong and sustainable development.

At the same time, develop forms of production organization in the direction of cooperation, chain linkage associated with certification standards; expand production scale, innovate content and methods of operation, link production with consumption markets; gradually form social enterprises investing in the shrimp farming sector with enough capacity to expand production and product consumption.

Develop 15-20 production linkage chains between cooperatives and enterprises in improved extensive shrimp farming; about 30% of farming area applies traceability and is certified with organic, VietGAP, and ASC standards.
