Late on the evening of October 8, military forces, police, security guards and thousands of people, including the elderly and young people, volunteered to reinforce the dike when the Cau River water level rose at Dau Han dike area, Kinh Bac ward, Bac Ninh.
The area inside Dau Han dike is home to about 2,000 people. If the dike overflows, people's lives and property will be affected, and at the same time threaten the entire main dike system of Kinh Bac ward.
According to the People's Committee of Kinh Bac Ward (Bac Ninh), from 7:00 a.m. on October 7, about 600 people and police, military , and security forces on site built a 600m dike with sandbags and tarpaulin to block the water.
At 8:00 a.m. on October 8, people in Dau Han area continued to build a dike to prevent water, with an additional 2,500 sacks and 600 meters of wave-blocking tarpaulin.
On October 8, troops from the 673rd Air Defense Brigade of the 12th Corps stationed in Lang Giang, Bac Ninh were reinforced to support the work of building sandbags to prevent the Dau Han dike from overflowing.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tra, a teacher at Hoa Long Kindergarten, residing in Viem Xa village, near Dau Han dike (Kinh Bac ward, Bac Ninh), said that because students are off school, she and eight other teachers have been strengthening the dike protection, shoveling sand, and building embankments to prevent overflow for the past two days.
This afternoon (October 8), about 40 more teachers joined the people, soldiers, and police to reinforce the bank. According to her, last year after Typhoon Yagi , the Cau River also rose high, people and authorities were present to reinforce the dike, everyone volunteered, not hesitating for everyone's safety.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at 9:00 p.m. on October 8, it is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the flood on the Thuong River at Cau Son is likely to peak and be about 2.45m above alert level 3 - Photo: THANH CONG
