This afternoon, August 15, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a Question and Answer Session on a group of issues in the field of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Attending the question and answer session at Binh Thuan bridge point were comrade Duong Van An - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, provincial National Assembly deputies and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.
At the question and answer session, National Assembly delegates questioned the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development about the slow linkage between production and consumption of agricultural products in some localities, the limited linkage in the value chain to promote mechanization; the fragmented inter-regional and market connections; high logistics costs; innovation has not yet become a driving force for agricultural development; solutions to remove difficulties for agricultural exports. Activities of exploiting, protecting and developing aquatic resources; solutions to remove the "yellow card" of the European Commission (EC) for aquatic products. The conversion of land use purposes, recovery of rice-growing land areas, ensuring food security and rice export.
Responding to questions about the implementation of chain linkages, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said that this is the strategy of the agricultural sector to change the fragmented, small-scale, and spontaneous situation of our country's agriculture. Therefore, cooperation between producers and linkages between producers and enterprises in a chain of products is necessary. The Minister also agreed with the delegates' comments on the slow linkage situation. According to reports from localities, only about 20% of agricultural areas are in the chain of products and not all chains are sustainable.
According to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, without a chain, it will be difficult to develop the logistics industry; and it is also impossible to digitize because only when joining the chain, only when the cooperative is strong enough, can we start to digitize. If we do not join the chain, we will not know where to put science and technology in the most reasonable and most widespread value. Therefore, in the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will persevere with localities to build more synchronous and complete chain models; at the same time, together with institutes, schools, scientists, and businesses to impact the chain to develop more sustainably...
