The work of sending workers to work abroad under contracts has always been of interest to Hai Lang district and achieved positive results. Thereby, helping workers increase their income, stabilize their lives, and contribute to the effective implementation of the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction in the locality.

Hai Lang District has identified sending workers to work abroad under contracts as one of the important solutions to solve employment, increase income, contribute to socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction. To effectively implement this work, the Hai Lang District Party Committee and People's Committee have issued many directive documents on labor and employment policies and sending workers to work abroad.

Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LĐ,TB&XH) of Hai Lang district, Phan Ke Quynh, said that the district has implemented many synchronous solutions, focusing on propaganda so that people can understand the preferential policies and support of the State for workers who want to work abroad for a limited period under contracts, paying special attention to workers who are poor households, near-poor households, policy families, and unemployed demobilized soldiers.

Assign targets and responsibilities to members of the steering committee to coordinate with organizations at the same level to implement this work. At the same time, regularly research, introduce and coordinate with consulting and recruitment companies to bring job information to the grassroots level so that workers can easily access official information.

The strong implementation of the above policies and guidelines has brought about high efficiency. Currently, 9 communes have met and exceeded the targets, including Hai Khe, Hai An and Hai Dinh communes. As of August 2024, the whole district has 164 people working in Japan, Korea, Australia... reaching 109% of the assigned plan. The district's workers are assessed to have complied well with the regulations abroad as well as the contents signed in the contract, creating prestige and convenience for workers to move to the next batches.

Mr. Le Duc Dung's family (32 years old) in Hai Ba commune has 2 people working abroad under contracts in Japan and Korea. Mr. Dung himself has worked in the agricultural sector for 3 years, has a good income, and regularly sends money home to his wife and children every month. Mr. D's wife, thanks to the money her husband sends home, has boldly expanded her local grocery store to have a stable income.

Vice Chairman of Hai Lang District People's Committee Cap Xuan Ta affirmed that sending workers to work abroad under contracts is an effective economic model that the Party and the State are interested in. The district directs to promote and considers this an important solution of the target program of job creation and sustainable poverty reduction.

With the socio-economic conditions of Hai Lang district, this work gradually creates a team of highly skilled workers with a solid industrial style to participate in working at enterprises after the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone and Quang Tri Industrial Park come into operation.

According to Vice Chairman of Cap Xuan Ta District People's Committee, currently, in addition to the traditional labor markets of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, some countries have accepted Vietnamese workers to work such as Germany, Australia, Thailand, Denmark...

However, the district's practical work still faces some difficulties. "Due to limited foreign language and professional skills, many workers have to take the exam 2-3 times with many companies to meet the requirements when registering to go to the Japanese market. Therefore, the district has directed departments, offices and centers to pay special attention to vocational training for workers going to work under contracts abroad," said Mr. Ta.

It can be affirmed that the work of sending workers to work abroad in Hai Lang district has become a bright spot of the province. Thanks to the good implementation of this work, it has helped to solve employment, increase income and effectively reduce poverty, promote socio-economic development in the district and create a premise to provide industrial labor force, contributing to realizing the plan to build Hai Lang to basically become an industrial district by 2023.
