"After three years of working with Red Rain , I think this is the most important, sacred, and special screening that People's Army Cinema and the entire Red Rain crew have been looking forward to every day.
On behalf of the Red Rain family, I respectfully report to the souls of the martyrs: We have completed our mission with all our strength and enthusiasm. May the souls of you all bear witness," wrote director Dang Thai Huyen.
The screening is an opportunity to commemorate and honor the heroic sacrifices of the martyrs at Quang Tri Citadel, and at the same time express deep gratitude to the people, agencies, units and localities that accompanied the film crew throughout the production process.
The Red Rain film crew respectfully pays respect to the martyrs' souls.
Bringing Red Rain to screen right at Quang Tri Citadel, in front of about 6,000 spectators, in front of rows of empty seats with soldier backpacks is a gesture of the film crew.
In front are candles arranged in the number 81, symbolizing the 81 days and nights that soldiers fought steadfastly to protect Quang Tri Citadel, 81 unforgettable days and nights.

"The image is so touching, choking! What is war, so terrible! Thank you to the national heroes who fell for the beloved Fatherland" - one audience sobbed. Many audiences respectfully hope that the souls of the martyrs will come here to witness, "understand how much they are respected and will be remembered forever by future generations".
More than a photo or a "viral" event, the People's Army Cinema and the Red Rain film crew expressed their sincere respect. Right at the time when the film was being shown commercially and had strong appeal at the box office, the crew organized this gratitude screening as a response from the younger generation in peacetime: gratitude, repaying the previous generation's favors is more important than anything.
"People's Army Cinema wishes to widely spread great historical values, affirming the patriotic tradition and the indomitable fighting spirit of our army and people.
This is also an opportunity to educate revolutionary traditions, arouse national pride, foster the desire to contribute and responsibility of the young generation in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland" - the Red Rain movie fanpage said.
Do Nhat Hoang, the main actor of Red Rain , said he shed tears when he saw the empty seats and backpacks in the front row. Actor Hua Vi Van (who plays Dr. Le) also could not hold back his tears.
Actor Phuong Nam (playing the role of Mr. Ta - squad leader of squad 1) wrote: "81 days and nights of blood and fire at Quang Tri Citadel. I would like to bow my head in gratitude to the souls of the soldiers who heroically lay down their lives here. I hope that Red Rain will somehow recreate, spread and touch the hearts of the audience with those sacred values."
Dinh Khang (as Tu, the innocent 16-year-old boy of squad 1) confided: "We are very happy to be able to contribute to such a meaningful production. We would like to pay tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their youth for the country."
