Quang Ninh Province Tourism Association commits to serving tourists safely

The recent tourist boat capsize incident in Ha Long Bay was an opportunity for the Association to thoroughly review operational issues, incident response skills, and strengthen inspection of means of transport and service quality.

The Quang Ninh Tourism Association has just sent an open letter to domestic and international tourists and tourism businesses, affirming its continued efforts to synchronously deploy solutions to ensure the highest safety for all tourism activities, especially sea and island tourism, and is committed to bringing tourists peace of mind with the best quality of service and experience.

The Quang Ninh Tourism Association shared that the tourist boat capsized accident in Ha Long Bay on July 19 was an especially serious incident caused by extreme, rare, and unusual weather, causing heavy human losses, leaving deep pain and loss for the victims' families, the community, and the entire Quang Ninh tourism industry.

Immediately after the incident, with the highest sense of responsibility, the association, together with the functional forces of Quang Ninh province, urgently deployed rescue measures, mobilized maximum forces and means to search for missing victims, and at the same time visited and promptly supported the affected families.

With the desire to bring tourists complete and safe experiences, in recent years, the Tourism Association has focused all business resources to invest in upgrading the tourist fleet.

Up to now, 100% of tourist boats in Ha Long Bay have safety standards higher than national standards, with a stable safety coefficient exceeding the national safety standards by 2-3 times.

The recent incident is an opportunity for the Association to objectively, thoroughly, and comprehensively review issues regarding operating procedures, incident response skills, increased inspection of means of transport, service quality, etc.

Quang Ninh Province Tourism Association said it always aims to build the Ha Long-Quang Ninh tourism brand, preserve and spread the image of Vietnam as a safe, friendly and attractive destination in the eyes of international friends.
