It has become a habit that every recess, the library of Thach Ngoc Primary School, Viet Xuyen Commune, becomes the destination of students. Although there are only 15 short minutes, the students take the opportunity to choose good comic books for reference. Thanks to that, the habit of reading is maintained, contributing to the formation of self-study skills for students.

Thach Ngoc Primary School Library currently has 1,300 books with more than 4,200 books of many genres, meeting the diverse reading needs of students. In addition to free reading activities, weekly reading hours are also organized, integrated with many rich forms of activities...

Le Thi Thuy, class 3A, Thach Ngoc Primary School shared: "With a friendly space, scientific and reasonable arrangement, it is very convenient for us to find our favorite books. Reading books is not only for entertainment but also helps me and my friends learn a lot of new knowledge."

At Huong Lam Primary School, Chuc A campus in Huong Xuan commune, a mountainous, remote area, the "Friendly Library" model attracts more and more excitement from students.

This place has opened up a space of knowledge, helping children nurture their passion for reading. Especially in areas with many difficulties, making friends with books is even more meaningful.

The “Friendly Library” model in many schools across the province has become increasingly effective, with the support of the Zhi Shan Foundation, through financial support for purchasing books and equipment. This is a component of the “Making Friends with Books” project that has been implemented for the past 17 years. Ha Tinh is also one of the 6 Central provinces selected to implement this content, with nearly 100 “friendly libraries” having been inaugurated and put into use.

Talking about the goal of the project "Making friends with books", Mr. Hoang Trong Thuy - Chief representative of Zhi shan Foundation said: "Ha Tinh is a locality that is implementing reading practice activities very well. We also want to accompany schools to aim at the goal set by the education sector, which is friendly schools, active students. Thereby, helping students to practice their abilities, including thinking ability, language ability and soft skills".

The province currently has 393 primary and secondary education facilities. To date, 100% of facilities have libraries, of which nearly 40% meet level 2 standards. Along with the "Friendly Library" model, many schools have also developed: Green libraries, classroom bookcases, connecting community libraries and moving towards promoting the construction of electronic libraries and digital libraries to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.
