The first Australian coach to lead a Premier League club

Coach Ange Postecoglou has just parted ways with Scottish Premier League club Celtic after winning five titles in two seasons. The 57-year-old has signed a contract to lead Tottenham until June 2027, with the goal of bringing the club back into the top four of the Premier League.

Coach Ange Postecoglou will face many challenges when leading a big club like Tottenham.

"Ange (Postecoglou) brings a positive mentality and a fast, beautiful attacking style of play. He also understands the importance of the link from the academy to the first team, which is very important for the club," Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said of the team's new coach in the announcement.

The 57-year-old Greek-Australian coach led the Australian team at the 2014 World Cup and the 2018 qualifiers but resigned before the finals in Russia. He also had a period of working at Australian clubs such as Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory. After finishing his work with the national team, Coach Postecoglou went to Japan to lead Yokohama FC.
